Orcas,

between myth and reality

Months ago I began to write, something which is somewhat my history
with orcas. I did it encouraged by many of the more than 40.000 persons
that heard my conferences, with some of you being among them.
I wrote telling about my beginnings, the whys, what I felt when I saw a
group of orcas for the very first time and how they stayed forever in my
heart, and in particular, I wrote about orcas.
I also wrote having in mind that it was necessary to give my version about
the facts, thus preventing that others, the well known ones, continue on
telling my history for their own benefit.
Since early December of this year
"Orcas between myth and reality" is
already in bookstores, being the third book of the collection Rumbo Sur
(Southern Course) of
Editorial Sudamericana.
For someone that writes his first book ( I am already working on my
second one) it is an unique event, even more when you are supported by a
very important publisher and collection and, specially, when I feel that I
will enter in many homes and be in some way, talking with unknown
readers through these pages, readers with which I will end up being fellow
of a nice discussion about so complex themes like breaking myths and
captivity.

I also know that it will be some
persons that will curse the book´s
arriving to the people, because they
make profit with orcas and another
dolphins and it is not good at all for
them to hear another bell.
What is better than sharing the best
moments with family and friends....
and because this one is those of that
moments, I share it with each one of
you.

Thank you,

Juan Carlos
